Why modify my engine ?

Running your vehicle’s engine unmodified, is not advised.
Why? Simply because in cold weather vegetable oils can solidify.

The ATG kit heats the veg-oil fuel to an optimum 80°C before it is injected into the engine.

ATG’s Basic Veg-oil Conversion Kit

How it works

The ATG is a German made conversion kit developed over a decade of experience. A simple heater unit pre-heats your Veg-oil fuel using the engine’s circulating coolant water. Pre-heating is typically between 75° to 90° – ideal for Veg-oil combustion.

A dashboard switch enables you to switch between your diesel fuel tank and Veg-oil fuel tank. After the engine has been working for about 5 minutes you simply switch over to Veg-oil. Prior to stopping your vehicle switch back to diesel fuel to clear the fuel lines.

A 22 ltr tank is easily installed for filling with your choice of Veg-oil fuel. The Veg-oil fuel supply is connected via a pre-filter to the diesel fuel line supplying the engine. It’s that simple.

4 Essentials tips on how to get the best from your ATG Veg-Oil Conversion

Get into the habit of switching over from diesel fuel to Veg-oil fuel using our dashboard switch after 5 minutes driving, and back to diesel fuel 3 or 4 minutes before completing your journey.

This flushes through to clear engine fuel lines before your next trip to ensure reliable engine starting in all temperatures.

For example Rapeseed has a lower than average melt point temperature and will remain liquid in colder temperatures. Olive Oil has a higher melt point and will begin to solidify earlier.

Using Olive Oil? If you have any doubts as to which Veg-oil is more viscous and reliable in colder temperatures – simply add up to 20% regular diesel fuel before filling up your Veg-oil tank.

USING WASTE VEG.OIL? Waste Veg-oil must be deacidified and pre-filtered. Obtain processed waste oil from a reliable source.

Properly fitted using hi-lube Veg-oils with ATG’s Conversion kit, your engine will be better lubricated without loss of power, plus cleaner exhaust and fuel emissions.

Placing the fuel selection valve as close to the injector pump as possible will reduce flushing time to clear fuel lines.

Veg-oil will flow better through larger fuel pipe. Choose larger diameter pipe for low return engines.
